‘Female Viagra’ boosts sex drive

A drug that failed the test as an antidepressant could find a new use as the female “Viagra“, say scientists.
The drug, flibanserin, had a disappointing effect on mood but did wonders for women’s flagging sex drive, researchers found.
Results from a series of clinical trials showed “significant improvements” in a number of measures of libido among women who had lost interest in sex.
Women taking 100 milligrams of flibanserin once a day reported greater numbers of “satisfactory sexual encounters”, higher levels of sexual desire, and reduced stress associated with sexual problems.
Professor John Thorp, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, US, who led the research, said: “Flibanserin was a poor antidepressant. However, astute observers noted that it increased libido in laboratory animals and human subjects.
“So, we conducted multiple clinical trials and the women in our studies who took it for hypoactive sexual desire disorder reported significant improvements in sexual desire and satisfactory sexual experiences.
“It’s essentially a Viagra-like drug for women in that diminished desire or libido is the most common feminine sexual problem, like erectile dysfunction is in men.”
Viagra, which helps men overcome impotency, also began life with another purpose in mind. It was originally designed to treat angina, the chest pain associated with heart disease.
Pooled results from three of four trials testing flibanserin’s ability to boost women’s sex drives were presented at the Congress of the European Society for Sexual Medicine in Lyon, France. A total of 1,946 pre-menopausal women aged 18 and older were treated either with flibanserin or an inactive “dummy” placebo drug for 24 weeks.
“Hypoactive sexual desire disorder” - or lack of sex drive - is believed to affect between 9% and 26% of women in the US. These results point to a novel approach to pharmacologic treatment of the sexual problem that plagues reproductive age women the most, and may over time prove to be an effective treatment without the side effects of androgen replacement therapy, which is the only treatment currently available,” said Prof Thorp.

We turned to Kerner, who divulged a sentence tailored to maximize your satisfaction.
For His Pleasure
“I’m coming.” So simple, so powerful. This sentence is like the sex version of bacon — men freakin’ love it. “Being a great lover is a prime source of pride for guys,” Levkoff says. “Telling him you’re about to orgasm is the ultimate accolade.” It’s proof that he’s successfully satisfying you. What’s more, he’s gotten you so aroused that you’re out of control — this phrase suggests that even if you tried, you couldn’t stop from tumbling over the edge.
Announcing your orgasm’s arrival also amps up anticipation for that pivotal moment, thus enhancing enjoyment for both of you. “Plus, since most men are ready to climax before women are, this gives him permission to come,” Kerner says. That’s definitely music to his, um, ears.

HIV-Infected Woman Arrested

Osceola County detectives arrested a woman they said knowingly had sex with several men without telling them she was HIV-positive.
Eneydi Torres, 42, faces 4 counts of unlawful acts.
Florida State law says it is illegal for any person who knowingly has HIV to have sex with another person without informing them of the presence of the sexually transmissible disease.
The investigation began when deputies took a report from a victim who claimed he had consensual sex with Torres, but said she never told him about her medical condition.
Detectives said they also spoke with another victim who told them the same thing.
Torres reportedly said under questioning that she has been HIV-positive for more than 15 years.

1- Asking for permission
